Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that involves inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band  of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot, connecting your heel bone to your toes. This  inflammation causes heel pain, which is often most noticeable with the first steps in the morning Plantar fasciitis typically results from repetitive strain and overuse, leading to small tears in the  fascia.

Common symptoms include: 

  • Heel pain  
  • Pain in the foot after activity  
  • Stiffness and tenderness that’s persistent
